Daphne Police Seek Suspect After Shots Fired at Local Walmart

Daphne, AL (BuzzReport) – Authorities are actively seeking a suspect identified as Jaquail Williams following a shooting incident at the Daphne Walmart on Sunday night. While a firearm was discharged towards the building, no injuries were reported.

The incident commenced when a Walmart employee observed Williams, who was reportedly seen entering the store with an infant, in possession of a pistol and requested that he secure the weapon. This initial encounter reportedly escalated into a verbal confrontation.

Following this, Williams engaged in a second verbal altercation with two other Walmart employees in the parking lot. As Williams was departing the premises in a vehicle, he discharged the pistol from the passenger side window, directing the shot towards the retail building.

The bullet struck the store’s concrete wall, and investigators located a 9mm shell casing in the parking lot. Police emphasized the significant danger posed by the indiscriminate discharge of a firearm in a public area, especially with individuals present both inside the store and in the parking lot at the time of the incident.

Walmart employees quickly recognized and identified Williams, aiding police in their investigation. The Daphne Police Department, in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, is actively searching for Williams.

Williams faces charges including two counts of reckless endangerment and one count of discharging a gun into an occupied building. Authorities have communicated with Williams’ family, who reside in Daphne, though Williams is reportedly from Mobile.

Authorities are urging Williams to surrender himself. The public is advised to contact the Daphne Police Department immediately if Williams’ whereabouts are known.
