Chicago, IL – A devastating incident occurred in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood on July 4, when a fire broke out in a building in the 3600 block of West Palmer. Responding to the blaze around 10 a.m., first responders found three children with stab wounds, who were subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Initially, one child’s condition was reported as serious, while the conditions of the other two were not immediately known. However, according to sources, one child later succumbed to their injuries.

In addition to the children, a first responder received treatment for smoke inhalation. An adult woman was taken into police custody and transported to a hospital, though the circumstances surrounding her detainment are unclear. A second adult woman, who lived in a neighboring home affected by the spreading flames, was hospitalized for smoke inhalation.

Fire crews worked to extinguish the flames, which had spread to the neighboring residence. Authorities have not released further details about the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
