Pinson, AL (BuzzReport) – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office announced the successful apprehension of Javon Everson, 30, following a brief pursuit and foot chase on June 25, 2025. Everson is facing multiple charges, including Drug Trafficking, Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, and Unlawful Possession of a Machine Gun Conversion Device, among others.

According to authorities, the incident began when Narcotics Detectives and the Sheriff’s Neighborhood Enforcement Team (SNET) attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Goodwin Rd. and Flagstone St. in the Pinson area. The driver refused to stop, leading to a brief pursuit that ended when the vehicle drove into a ravine near Wood Dr. and Sweeney Hollow Rd. Everson was subsequently apprehended on foot.

Everson is being held at the Jefferson County Jail on a total bond of $1,567,000.00. The seized evidence includes 13.8g of Fentanyl, 3g of crack cocaine, multiple firearms, and various other items.

Sheriff Mark Pettway stated, “This was a successful operation run by our Team in which dangerous drugs and weapons were taken off the streets of Jefferson County. Keeping the citizens of Jefferson County safe is my number one priority.”
