Gautier, MS (BuzzReport) – A tragic incident on Gautier-Vancleave Road Thursday night resulted in the death of 45-year-old Celeste Bellard. According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Bellard exited a moving vehicle driven by her boyfriend, 47-year-old Adam Cross, leading to her death at the scene. Deputies responded to a call on Gautier-Vancleave Road, just north of Pine Grove Road, around 7:30 PM on June 26th. Upon arrival, they found Bellard in the roadway and immediately began life-saving efforts. Despite their attempts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Sheriff John Ledbetter stated that Cross informed investigators that he and Bellard had been consuming alcohol and were en route home when an argument ensued. Cross alleges that during the argument, Bellard jumped from the vehicle. Adam Cross has been arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI). The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Bellard’s death is ongoing. Further details are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
