Mobile, AL – A late-night police chase in Mobile ended with a stolen vehicle crashing into a residence, resulting in the arrest of a male juvenile early Thursday morning. The incident, which occurred near Cottage Hill Road and Bobwhite Trail, has left residents shaken and highlights the ongoing issue of juvenile crime in the area.

According to a statement released by the Mobile Police Department, officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle at approximately 12:15 a.m. near the intersection of Dauphin Island Parkway and Victory Drive. The driver, identified as a male juvenile, refused to comply and accelerated, initiating a pursuit.

The pursuit continued until the stolen vehicle careened off the roadway in the area of Cottage Hill Road and Bobwhite Trail, slamming into a private residence. While the extent of the damage to the home is still being assessed, police confirmed that thankfully, no one inside the home was injured.

Following the crash, the juvenile driver was taken into custody without further incident. He was subsequently transported to the Strickland Youth Center, where he will await further legal proceedings.

Investigators have confirmed that the vehicle in question had been reported stolen earlier in the month. The juvenile now faces a litany of charges, including fleeing and eluding law enforcement, possession of a stolen vehicle, and reckless endangerment.

The Mobile Police Department is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the stolen vehicle and the subsequent pursuit. This is an ongoing investigation.
