Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – A 67-year-old Moss Point, Mississippi, man has pleaded guilty to robbing a bank in Mobile, Alabama. Joseph Deric Nelson faces up to 20 years in prison for the crime. On March 19, Nelson entered the Family Security Credit Union on Airport Boulevard, passing a note to a teller that claimed he was armed with a gun and explosives and demanded money. The teller complied, handing over $6,843 in cash. A witness tracked Nelson’s vehicle until police arrived, and authorities recovered the stolen money, note, and Nelson’s disguise from his car. Nelson later confessed to the crime. Nelson’s sentencing is scheduled for August 14.
