Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle In Prichard

PRICHARD, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A 59-year-old Eight Mile woman was killed Saturday night after she was struck by a vehicle while walking in the roadway in Prichard, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

ALEA said the crash happened at approximately 9:55 p.m. Saturday, September 19, on Bear Fork Road near Meyers Road, within the Prichard city limits in Mobile County.

Authorities identified the pedestrian as Alisia A. Burgans, 59, of Eight Mile. According to ALEA, Burgans was walking in the roadway when she was struck by a 2018 Toyota Corolla driven by Latonya A. Jones, 68, of Satsuma.

Burgans suffered fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division. No additional information regarding the circumstances leading up to the collision was provided in the agency’s initial report.
