Victim Identified In Deadly Navco Road Bar Shooting

Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — Authorities have identified the man who was killed in a weekend shooting outside a Mobile bar as 43-year-old Brandon Shute, following an early-morning confrontation that turned deadly.

The shooting happened Sunday, September 20, 2026, at approximately 2:08 a.m. at 1441 Navco Road, the location of Poinse’s Lounge, where Mobile police officers responded to reports of gunfire.

When officers arrived, they found Shute suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment but later died from his injuries.

Investigators say the shooting stemmed from a physical altercation in the parking lot involving several individuals. During the confrontation, police say a male subject pulled out a firearm and shot Shute.

The investigation quickly led detectives to 29-year-old DelJuan Lakendrick Thomas, who was located a short time after the shooting and taken into custody without incident.

Thomas was transported to Metro Jail and booked on a murder charge in connection with Shute’s death. Jail booking records list Thomas as being booked in Mobile County on September 20, 2026, on the murder charge.

The deadly shooting has left investigators working to determine exactly what led to the confrontation and what occurred in the moments before the gunfire erupted.

The case remains under investigation as detectives work to gather additional evidence and establish the full sequence of events surrounding the shooting.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information about the confrontation or shooting to come forward.
