Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — The Mobile Police Department is offering a $2,500 cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for two separate shootings near Rickarby Park that have left residents concerned and investigators searching for answers.

The shootings occurred weeks apart in the 500 block of Rickarby Street, but both incidents involved gunfire striking homes or vehicles in the residential area, prompting Mobile police to increase their presence and appeal directly to residents for information.

The first shooting happened on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at approximately 11:40 p.m. Police say gunfire struck a home and an innocent female victim. The woman continues to recover from her injuries.

The second shooting occurred on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at approximately 9 p.m. During that incident, multiple vehicles and a home were struck by gunfire. No additional injuries were reported in the information provided by police.

Mobile Police Chief William Jackson said investigators believe someone in the community may have information that could help move the cases forward.

“Someone knows more about these shootings than we’re being told, and it’s vital they step up and do the right thing by coming forward with information.”

Jackson urged residents not to dismiss information they may have simply because they believe it is insignificant.

“Please don’t assume that your tip is too small to matter. Your information could be the missing piece that our investigators need to solve these cases.”

Police say officers are continuing to patrol the area, both on foot and in marked vehicles, while speaking directly with residents who live near the locations of the shootings.

“My officers are actively patrolling this area on foot and by vehicle, continuing to speak with residents in the 500 block of Rickarby Street where both of these shootings occurred,” Jackson said.

The reward is specifically being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction, giving residents who may have witnessed suspicious activity, heard conversations about the shootings, or otherwise possess relevant information an opportunity to assist investigators.

Authorities are encouraging anyone who knows something about either shooting to contact the Mobile Police Department at (251) 208-7211.

Police say tips will remain confidential.

As investigators continue working to determine who was responsible, the department is asking the community to come forward with information that could help prevent another shooting and bring those responsible to justice.
