FORT WALTON BEACH, FL (BuzzReport)— A 42-year-old Fort Walton Beach area man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder following a fatal stabbing Sunday evening, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

The deadly confrontation unfolded at a residence on 613 Lovejoy Road, where deputies were called at approximately 8:20 p.m. Sunday following a report of a disturbance that had turned physical.

When deputies arrived, they encountered a disturbing scene.

An adult male believed to be in his 20s was found in the roadway suffering from an apparent stab wound. The injured man was holding his abdomen and told deputies, “He stabbed me.”

Deputies also encountered a male at the scene who was reportedly holding a fixed-blade knife.

Investigators determined that a physical altercation had occurred between the victim and 42-year-old Sedrick Hill.

The victim was rushed to HCA Florida Fort Walton Beach-Destin Hospital, where medical personnel attempted to save his life. Despite those efforts, the victim was later pronounced dead.

Following the investigation at the scene and interviews with witnesses, Hill was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder.

Authorities have not released additional details about what led to the confrontation or what specifically occurred during the physical altercation. The relationship, if any, between Hill and the victim has not been disclosed.

Detectives with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the stabbing, including witness accounts and evidence collected at the scene.

The case remains active and ongoing, and investigators have indicated that additional information could be released as the investigation progresses.
