John Myers Arrested in Avenue C Shooting That Left One Dead, Another Injured

MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — Authorities have arrested a 50-year-old Mobile man in connection with a shooting that left one person dead and another wounded Thursday morning near Harding Boulevard and Avenue C.

John Myers was arrested Friday, August 14, 2026, and transported to Metro Jail, where he was booked on charges of Murder and Attempted Murder. The charges stem from the August 13 shooting that is now being investigated as a homicide.

According to authorities, officers responded shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday to the area of Harding Boulevard and Avenue C after receiving a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they discovered a male victim suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Despite the circumstances at the scene, the victim was pronounced deceased.

A second male victim was also found suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have not released additional information about the victim’s condition.
