Two Found Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide in Chickasaw; Joint Investigation Underway

Chickasaw, AL (BuzzReport)—Authorities are investigating a tragic late-night shooting that claimed the lives of a man and a woman in Chickasaw after what investigators believe was an apparent murder-suicide.

According to the Chickasaw Police Department, officers and firefighters were dispatched to the 400 block of 2nd Place at approximately 11:14 p.m. Thursday following reports of a shooting.

When first responders arrived, they discovered a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite emergency efforts, both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene by Mobile County EMS.

In a statement released Friday, Chickasaw Police Chief Eugene “Chip” Parker said the department’s preliminary investigation indicates the man allegedly shot the woman before turning the firearm on himself.

Authorities have not publicly identified either victim, pending notification of their next of kin. Investigators confirmed that the man and woman were acquainted, though no additional details about their relationship have been released.

The Chickasaw Police Department is working alongside the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office as part of a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deadly incident. Detectives continue to process evidence, conduct interviews, and determine the events leading up to the shooting.

At this time, officials have emphasized that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
