Eight Arrested After Armed Home Invasion and Robbery Investigation in Gulf Shores

GULF SHORES, AL. (BuzzReport)— A quick response by Gulf Shores police, combined with the use of advanced license plate recognition technology, led to the arrest of eight suspects following an armed home invasion and robbery that unfolded Wednesday morning. Investigators say the incident stemmed from an earlier confrontation and escalated into a dangerous armed encounter.

According to the Gulf Shores Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 10:56 a.m. on July 22, 2026, to the 5500 block of Lemon Tree Lane after receiving reports of an armed robbery in progress.

Just one minute later, at approximately 10:57 a.m., officers located the suspected vehicle on Waterway West and detained several individuals believed to be connected to the crime. The quick apprehension prevented the suspects from leaving the area and allowed investigators to begin processing the case immediately.

Detectives with the Gulf Shores Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene, where they conducted interviews, collected physical evidence, and reviewed surveillance information, including data obtained through the city’s Flock Safety camera system.

The investigation revealed that the robbery was the culmination of a dispute that had begun the previous evening.

According to investigators, during the evening hours of July 21, two groups became involved in a disturbance at the victim’s residence. During that altercation, firearms were reportedly displayed, but the confrontation eventually ended.

Police say the situation escalated the following morning when a group of armed males connected to the earlier dispute returned to the residence. Investigators allege the suspects entered the home, threatened the occupants at gunpoint, and stole a pistol before fleeing the scene.

Based on evidence gathered throughout the investigation, authorities arrested eight individuals, who now face multiple felony charges. The charges include Robbery in the First Degree, Possession of Stolen Property in the Second Degree, Receiving Stolen Property in the Second Degree, Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm, Menacing, and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.

During the investigation, officers recovered five firearms from the suspects’ vehicle. One of the weapons had been reported stolen from Montgomery, and detectives also recovered the firearm that had been taken from the victim during the robbery.

Those arrested have been identified as:

• Jayden Chase Benoit, 18, of Elton, Louisiana
• Marlo Javeion Harris, 18, of Montgomery, Alabama
• Jeremiah Le Aie Nickson, 18, of Montgomery, Alabama
• Kavion Raynard Tyus, 18, of Autaugaville, Alabama
• Cameron Marcus Wright, 18, of Prattville, Alabama
• Markel Kashon Lansden, 18, of La Fayette, Georgia
• Two juvenile males, whose identities are being withheld due to their age.

Investigators noted that none of the suspects are residents of Gulf Shores. Police said the group was visiting the area because of an affiliation with the Alabama Rays Football Team.

All of the suspects remain in custody and are expected to be transferred to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, where they will await further court proceedings.

The Gulf Shores Police Department credited alert residents who quickly reported suspicious activity, allowing officers to respond within minutes and take the suspects into custody before additional violence could occur.

Officials also highlighted the role of Flock Safety camera technology, saying it continues to be an invaluable investigative tool that helps officers rapidly identify suspect vehicles and solve crimes more efficiently.
