MOBILE, AL (BuzzReport) — Mobile Police are investigating an early morning shooting that left one person injured just before 3 a.m. Sunday, prompting a large law enforcement response and the closure of part of Bayou Street near the Government Street intersection.

When officers arrived, they secured the area with crime scene tape as investigators began collecting evidence and interviewing potential witnesses. Authorities confirmed that at least one person suffered a gunshot wound and was transported by a private vehicle to a local hospital. The victim’s current condition has not been released.

As the investigation expanded, police also appeared to focus on a possible second crime scene approximately one block away. Officers were seen searching the parking lot of the former CVS at the corner of Government and Broad Streets, where they were looking for shell casings and other possible evidence that could help determine exactly what happened.

Investigators have not yet disclosed what led to the shooting, whether multiple individuals were involved, or if the two locations are connected. No arrests have been announced, and authorities have not released any suspect information.

The Mobile Police Department has not provided additional details as detectives continue to process the scene and piece together the events leading up to the violence.

Anyone with information that could assist investigators is encouraged to contact the Mobile Police Department or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation, and additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
