Two Killed, One Injured in Early Morning Shooting at Adams County Nightclub

ADAMS COUNTY, MS (BuzzReport) — A Fourth of July weekend celebration turned into a heartbreaking crime scene after gunfire erupted outside an Adams County nightclub early Saturday morning, leaving two young men dead and another fighting to recover.

According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to JROC’s on Lower Woodville Road at approximately 5:44 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired.

When deputies arrived, they discovered two adult Black men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said a third victim was also struck by gunfire but was transported to Merit Health by a private vehicle before law enforcement arrived. The victim is currently receiving medical treatment. Officials have not released information regarding the extent of the person’s injuries.

The deadly violence has left investigators working to piece together exactly what happened during the early morning hours. Crime scene investigators with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division spent hours processing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and following leads in an effort to identify those responsible.

As of Saturday, investigators had not announced any arrests or identified a suspect. The investigation remains active and ongoing.

The identities of the deceased victims have not been released as authorities work to notify their families.

The shooting marks another tragic act of gun violence in Mississippi, where holiday gatherings meant to bring people together have too often been interrupted by deadly violence. As family members await answers, investigators are urging anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or captured photos or video from the scene to come forward.
