MOBILE, AL (BuzzReport) — A normal evening at a convenience store along Dauphin Island Parkway turned violent Tuesday after an employee was stabbed outside the business, prompting an active investigation by the Mobile Police Department. According to police, officers were dispatched at approximately 7:01 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, to Kanaan Food Mart, located at 719 Dauphin Island Parkway, following reports of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found a male employee suffering from a stab wound. Investigators said the victim had been attacked outside the store by a man known to him, suggesting the incident may have stemmed from a prior dispute rather than a random act of violence. Despite being injured, the victim declined medical transportation from the scene. Police have not released the extent of his injuries or indicated whether he later sought medical treatment on his own. Detectives spent Tuesday evening interviewing witnesses, collecting evidence, and working to piece together what led to the confrontation. Authorities have not disclosed what may have sparked the altercation or whether the suspect fled the area before officers arrived. The Mobile Police Department says the investigation remains active, and few details are being released as detectives continue gathering evidence. No arrests have been announced, and investigators have not identified the suspect publicly. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could help investigators is encouraged to contact the Mobile Police Department or submit anonymous tips to Gulf Coast Crime Stoppers. Police say additional information will be released as the investigation progresses.
