Hit-And-Run Crash Claims Life OF Grand Bay Man Early Thursday Morning

Mobile County, AL (BuzzReprot)— A tragic early-morning crash in Mobile County has claimed the life of a Grand Bay man after he was struck in a hit-and-run collision, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

Officials say the incident occurred at approximately 3:26 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, along Three Notch Road near Goldmine Road East, just about one mile west of the Mobile city limits.

VICTIM IDENTIFIED AS GRAND BAY MAN

Authorities identified the victim as Jobrandon M. Crayton, 41, of Grand Bay, Alabama. Investigators say Crayton was in the roadway at the time of the crash when he was struck by a passing vehicle.

The impact left Crayton critically injured. Emergency responders transported him to USA Health University Hospital in Mobile, where medical personnel attempted lifesaving measures. Despite efforts by doctors and trauma staff, Crayton later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

SUSPECT VEHICLE FLED THE SCENE

According to ALEA, the vehicle involved in the collision did not remain at the scene and fled immediately after striking the pedestrian. At this time, investigators have not released a description of the vehicle, and it remains unknown.

Law enforcement officials are actively working to gather evidence and review any available surveillance or witness information that could help identify the driver responsible for the fatal hit-and-run.
