MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A 69-year-old woman was arrested Thursday night after authorities say she physically assaulted a nurse at a Mobile healthcare facility.

According to police, officers responded to Camelia Health & Rehabilitation, located at 1758 Springhill Avenue, at approximately 10:25 p.m. on June 4, 2026, following reports of an assault involving a staff member.

When officers arrived on the scene, they learned that a female subject had allegedly become upset with a nurse before the situation escalated into a physical confrontation.

Investigators said the woman assaulted the nurse during the incident. The extent of the nurse’s injuries, if any, was not immediately released by authorities.

Following the investigation, officers arrested Bobbie Phillips, 69, in connection with the incident.

Phillips was taken into custody and transported to the Mobile Metro Jail, where she was booked on charges related to the assault.

Healthcare workers across the country continue to face increasing concerns regarding workplace violence, with nurses and medical staff often serving on the front lines of patient care in high-stress environments. Incidents involving assaults on healthcare personnel have drawn growing attention from medical organizations and public safety officials who advocate for stronger protections for workers.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding what led to the altercation or whether any further charges may be filed.

The investigation remains ongoing.
