DAPHNE, AL (BuzzReport) — A Mobile man is facing felony theft charges after investigators say more than $50,000 worth of electronics destined for a Daphne Walmart disappeared over several months, leading police to a FedEx-contracted delivery driver.

According to the Daphne Police Department, 39-year-old Jeremy Eaton of Mobile was arrested Thursday during a traffic stop and charged with first-degree theft of property.

Investigators said the case began after Walmart corporate offices alerted Daphne Police to a growing number of missing electronics shipments that never reached the Daphne store beginning in October 2025.

Authorities said the missing merchandise included high-value items such as Apple Watches and iPhones. In total, investigators estimate the losses exceeded $50,000.

During the investigation, tracking devices hidden inside several packages allegedly helped investigators narrow the thefts to a single FedEx-contracted driver.

Police said Eaton was stopped shortly after making a delivery to the Daphne Walmart location. During a search of the delivery vehicle, investigators reportedly discovered three Apple Watches inside.

According to investigators, Eaton admitted during questioning that he had been selling the stolen electronics to an individual in Mobile.

Authorities have not released additional information about the alleged buyer, and it remains unclear whether more arrests are expected.

The Daphne Police Department said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges could be possible as detectives continue reviewing the missing shipments and tracing where the stolen merchandise may have been sold.

No further details have been released at this time.
