One Dead, Another Critically Injured After Being Struck on I-65 Near Springhill Avenue

MOBILE, AL (BuzzReport)—A fatal traffic incident on Interstate 65 near Springhill Avenue late Friday night left one man dead and another hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

At approximately 9:29 p.m. on September 4, 2026, officers were dispatched to the northbound lanes of Interstate 65 near the off-ramp to Springhill Avenue after receiving a report that a person had been struck by a vehicle.

When officers arrived, they found an adult male who had died at the scene. A second adult male was also located with life-threatening injuries. Emergency responders transported the injured man to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not released the identities of either man or provided additional details about the circumstances leading up to the incident. It remains unclear whether multiple vehicles were involved, how the collision occurred, or whether any citations or arrests are expected.
