MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A shooting incident at the South of Dauphin Apartments Tuesday night left a vehicle struck by gunfire and prompted an active investigation by police. According to authorities, officers responded on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at approximately 7:59 p.m. to the apartment complex located at 3105 Dauphin Street in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived at the scene, they met with the victim, who reported that an unknown male suspect discharged a firearm in his direction, striking the victim’s occupied vehicle. Investigators say the incident began during a verbal argument involving the victim and a known female. Police stated the situation escalated after the female allegedly called for the unknown male subject, who then arrived and opened fire. Fortunately, no injuries were immediately reported, but the gunfire endangered lives and caused damage to the occupied vehicle. Authorities have not released a description of the suspect, and investigators have not announced any arrests connected to the shooting. Police confirmed the case remains an active investigation, and no additional details are being released at this time.
