Mobile, AL (BuzzReport)— A Wednesday evening shoplifting investigation at a Mobile Walgreens led to the arrest of one woman and damage to a police patrol vehicle, according to authorities.

Police say officers responded to the store at approximately 7:30 p.m. on May 6, 2026, after receiving reports of a theft in progress. Upon arrival, officers learned that two female suspects had allegedly entered the business, concealed multiple items, and exited the store without paying for the merchandise.

During the investigation, one of the suspects was identified as 34-year-old Sharbrenda Loper. Authorities say Loper caused damage to the door of a patrol vehicle while she was being detained by officers at the scene.

Loper was subsequently transported to Metro Jail without further incident.

Investigators say additional arrests are likely as the case remains active. No further details regarding the total value of the stolen merchandise or the identity of the second suspect have been released at this time.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident.
