MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A stolen vehicle investigation escalated into a dangerous police pursuit Tuesday morning, ending with two suspects in custody after one allegedly breached a secured airport area and ran across an active runway. According to authorities, the incident began around 11:00 a.m. on April 21, 2026, when officers attempted to stop a vehicle reported stolen in the area of Dauphin Island Parkway southbound and Douglas Lane. Police say the driver refused to pull over despite audible sirens and visible blue emergency lights, prompting a brief pursuit. Officers deployed stop sticks during the chase, which successfully disabled the vehicle after it was struck. The vehicle came to a stop near Dauphin Island Parkway and Cedar Crescent Drive, where two adult male suspects exited and fled on foot. Both individuals were quickly apprehended following a short foot pursuit. However, authorities say the situation intensified when one suspect allegedly jumped a fence at Mobile Downtown Airport and ran across an active runway—posing a serious risk to both himself and potential air traffic operations. No injuries were reported during the incident. Police identified the suspects as Cameron Robinson, 23, and Christian Robinson, 21. Both were taken into custody without further incident and transported to Metro Jail. The suspects are now facing multiple felony charges, including first-degree receiving stolen property, attempting to elude law enforcement, and unauthorized entry of critical infrastructure. Authorities have not released additional details at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
