Deadly Gas Station Shooting in Grand Bay Leaves One Dead, Suspect Charged with Murder

GRAND BAY, Ala. (BuzzReport) — Authorities with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office are actively investigating a fatal shooting that unfolded Tuesday afternoon at a Chevron gas station in Grand Bay, leaving one man dead and another behind bars on a murder charge.

Officials confirmed that 20-year-old Brendan Pierce has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to the death of 27-year-old Dylan Meheen.

According to investigators, deputies were dispatched to the Chevron station located at the intersection of Ramsey Road and Highway 90 around 1:30 p.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered Meheen suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Despite emergency response efforts, Meheen was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary findings reveal that Meheen had arrived at the gas station alongside two other individuals, each in separate vehicles parked at different gas pumps. Authorities say a confrontation erupted between the parties, escalating rapidly.

During the dispute, Meheen reportedly approached one of the vehicles involved. At that moment, investigators say one of the suspects opened fire, striking Meheen.

Deputies quickly detained both individuals believed to be involved in the shooting. Pierce was subsequently charged, while officials continue to review the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Authorities confirmed that all parties involved were known to each other, suggesting the shooting may have stemmed from a prior dispute. However, the exact motive and events leading up to the deadly encounter remain unclear.
