MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A Saturday afternoon dispute at a West Mobile apartment complex escalated into gunfire, leaving one woman injured and another behind bars, according to local authorities.

Officers with the Mobile Police Department responded at approximately 2:11 p.m. on April 4, 2026, to a reported shooting at 6190 Girby Road, the location of the 61 Ninety West Apartments. Upon arrival, officers located a female victim who had sustained non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by gunfire.

Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where she received treatment. Officials have not released her identity, and her current condition has not been publicly updated.

Following an on-scene investigation, detectives determined that the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between two individuals. Authorities say the situation escalated, ultimately resulting in one woman firing a weapon and striking the victim.

Police identified the suspect as 53-year-old Lizzie Coley. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to Metro Jail, where she remains as the case proceeds through the judicial system.

At this time, investigators have not released additional details regarding the nature of the dispute or any potential charges Coley may face. The incident remains under investigation.

The Mobile Police Department urges anyone with further information related to this case to come forward as detectives continue working to piece together the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
