MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — Authorities are investigating a robbery that left a man assaulted Tuesday night in a residential area of Mobile.

According to police, officers were dispatched at approximately 8:00 p.m. on March 31, 2026, to Summerville Street in response to a reported robbery that had occurred shortly before their arrival.

Preliminary information indicates that a male suspect approached a known male victim as he was walking near the intersection of Summerville Street and Downing Street. During the encounter, the suspect allegedly struck the victim with an object before demanding his wallet. The extent of the victim’s injuries has not been released.

Officers canvassed the area and began gathering evidence, but no arrests have been announced at this time. Investigators have not disclosed a description of the suspect or whether the individuals involved knew each other prior to the incident.

Police say the case remains an active investigation, and additional details will be released as they become available.
