Mobile, AL (BuzzReport)— A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with two separate robbery incidents that occurred within hours of each other along Schillinger Road on Saturday, March 28, 2026, according to law enforcement officials.

Investigators identified the suspect as Kenneth Nickles, Jr., who has been charged with robbery in both cases. He was taken into custody following the investigation and transported to Metro Jail.

The first incident occurred at approximately 10:20 a.m. at ALDI, located at 975 Schillinger Road South. Officers responding to the scene learned that Nickles allegedly attempted to leave the store with unpaid merchandise. When confronted by an employee, the situation escalated, and the suspect reportedly bit the employee before abandoning the items and fleeing the store. Authorities have not released information regarding the extent of the employee’s injuries.

Less than two hours later, at approximately 11:55 a.m., officers were dispatched to Corner Market, 740 Schillinger Road North, in reference to a second robbery. According to investigators, the suspect again attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise. When confronted by an employee, the suspect allegedly produced a knife, threatening the worker. In this instance, the suspect was able to leave the store with the stolen merchandise.

Through the course of the investigation, authorities determined that the same individual was responsible for both incidents. Nickles was subsequently located and arrested without further incident.

Both cases remain under active investigation as officials continue to gather evidence and assess whether additional charges may be warranted.

Law enforcement officials are asking anyone with additional information related to these incidents to come forward as the investigation continues.
