Uniontown, AL (BuzzReport) — Local and state law enforcement agencies are investigating a deadly incident that marks Uniontown’s first homicide of 2026.

Uniontown Police Chief Mike Kiser confirmed that a 26-year-old woman was killed early Sunday morning. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity, and few details about the circumstances surrounding the death were made available as of Monday.

The investigation has been turned over to the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation, which is working alongside local officials to determine what led to the fatal incident.

Chief Kiser is urging members of the community to come forward with any information that could assist investigators. Anyone with relevant details is asked to contact Uniontown Police or the State Bureau of Investigation office in Montgomery.

In a statement shared on social media Monday, Uniontown police expressed condolences to those affected by the tragedy and condemned the violence.

Officials described the incident as senseless and emphasized that such acts have no place in the community.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not announced any arrests at this time.
