Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – U.S. Representative Shomari Figures hosted a town hall Monday evening, giving constituents a direct line to discuss pressing issues from international conflicts to rising living costs.

The event drew more than 100 residents to Truevine Missionary Baptist Church in Toulminville, where Figures addressed concerns shaping the daily lives of those in Alabama’s Second Congressional District.

Figures emphasized the personal significance of holding the town hall near the community that shaped his early life. “When you play ball, you always dream of coming back home and performing in front of your own crowd. For me, this is the first time I’ve held a town hall anywhere near where I grew up,” he said.

Local residents and community leaders attended in strong numbers, eager to hear Figures’ perspective on the challenges facing Washington and their impact at home.

“I’m honored to be here and hear from our Congressman on issues like high gas prices, healthcare, and the state of our democracy,” said Angel Morris, a Mobile resident.

Figures concluded by encouraging constituents to stay engaged, stressing that informed participation is critical to shaping policy and protecting local interests.
