73-Year-Old Man Arrested After Allegedly Exposing Himself, Attempting to Lure Children in Mobile

Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A 73-year-old man has been arrested after Mobile police say he exposed himself and attempted to lure children into his apartment at a local complex.

According to authorities, Larry Beard was taken into custody at the scene and charged with enticing a child to enter a residence. Jail records confirm he was booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail on Thursday.

Police say the incident occurred Wednesday at the Dauphin Gate Apartments, located along Dauphin Street in Mobile.

Investigators report that a child victim, along with at least one witness, came forward with allegations regarding Beard’s behavior. According to the witness, several children in the area recorded video that allegedly shows Beard exposing himself to other minors. Authorities believe that footage has since been turned over to law enforcement as part of the investigation.

Officials have not released additional details about the number of children involved or whether further charges could be filed. The case remains under investigation.

Court records indicate that Beard has limited prior criminal history in Alabama.
