Baldwin County, AL (BuzzReport) — An early morning crash involving a commercial vehicle has led to a lane closure along Interstate 65 in Baldwin County, prompting an ongoing response from state troopers and recovery crews.

According to officials, the single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 1:38 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, near the 27-mile marker on northbound I-65. The incident involved a tractor-trailer that left the roadway, resulting in significant disruption to traffic flow in the area.

As of Tuesday morning, the right northbound lane remains closed while crews work to safely remove the damaged commercial vehicle from the scene. The extent of any injuries has not been released at this time.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division responded to the crash and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities have not yet indicated what may have caused the tractor-trailer to leave the roadway.

Drivers traveling through the area are urged to use caution, expect delays, and consider alternate routes if possible as recovery operations continue.

ALEA officials say they will remain on scene until the roadway is fully cleared and safe for normal traffic. Additional updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
