Fairhope, AL (BuzzReport) — Emergency responders were called to the scene of a vehicle crash early Saturday afternoon after a car carrying three occupants veered off the roadway, struck a power transformer, and then collided with a residence in a Fairhope neighborhood. According to authorities, officers responded to the crash on Cottage Drive at approximately 1 p.m. on March 14. Investigators say the single vehicle involved in the incident left the roadway for reasons that remain under investigation. Officials said the vehicle was occupied by two adults and one child at the time of the crash. After leaving the roadway, the vehicle struck a transformer before continuing forward and crashing into a nearby home. First responders from local police, fire, and emergency medical services arrived at the scene shortly after the call was received. The two adults in the vehicle sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released details about the severity of their injuries. The child who was inside the vehicle at the time of the crash was not injured, according to officials. It is not immediately clear whether anyone was inside the residence when the vehicle struck the structure. Officials have not reported any injuries among residents, though the extent of damage to the home and surrounding property has not yet been disclosed.
