Mobile High School Student Charged in Alleged Gunpoint Robbery of Classmate

MOBILE, AL. (BuzzReport) — An 18-year-old Mobile high school student has been charged with first-degree robbery after police say he robbed a fellow student at gunpoint late last month.

According to investigators with the Mobile Police Department, the incident occurred on Feb. 26 near the intersection of Selma and Marine Streets. Authorities allege that 18-year-old Jordan Black confronted a schoolmate and robbed the victim of cash while armed with a firearm.

Police did not release additional details about the circumstances leading up to the robbery or the relationship between the suspect and the victim.

Black was taken into custody on March 11 and charged with first-degree robbery, a felony offense under Alabama law that involves the use or threat of a deadly weapon during the commission of a theft.

Court records show that Black was released from custody on Friday after posting a $30,000 bond. As part of his bond conditions, he is prohibited from possessing any firearms while the case is pending.

Black is scheduled to return to court for a hearing on April 16.

Authorities have not released further information as the investigation continues.
