Gulfport, Mississippi (BuzzReport) — A 35-year-old Gulfport man has been arrested following a late-night assault that left two people hospitalized with multiple lacerations, according to the Gulfport Police Department.

Police said officers responded at approximately 9:40 p.m. on March 2, 2026, to a reported cutting in the 2800 block of Palmer Drive. Upon arrival, officers located two victims suffering from multiple lacerations.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.

Authorities identified the suspect as Shaun Andrew Lawler, 35, of Gulfport. Lawler was located a short time after the incident and taken into custody without further incident.

Investigators determined the altercation stemmed from Lawler reportedly being awake for several days due to narcotics use prior to the assault.

Lawler has been charged with one count of Aggravated Domestic Assault and one count of Aggravated Assault. He was processed and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where he is currently being held on a $400,000 bond.
