Jackson County, Miss. (BuzzReport) — Authorities are continuing their investigation into a late-night shooting that left one man wounded in Jackson County.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded Thursday, February 26, 2026, at approximately 9:30 p.m. to a reported shooting near North 19th Street and Pickering Forrest Drive in Gulf Park Estates.

When deputies arrived, they found a 47-year-old man, identified as Nathan Lee, suffering from two gunshot wounds. Investigators said the shooting followed an altercation between Lee and another individual. Lee was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified two suspects in connection with the incident: 46-year-old Christopher Paul Landry and 32-year-old Glen Guy Barton.

Authorities confirmed that Barton was arrested Friday and charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Landry remains at large and is wanted on an active warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His whereabouts are currently unknown.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials say additional charges or arrests are possible as more information becomes available.
