Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A Mobile man has been arrested following an investigation into the theft of approximately $20,000 worth of pet food from a local business earlier this month.

According to the Mobile Police Department, officers responded on Friday, February 6, 2026, to Hill’s Pet Nutrition, located at 5228 Halls Mill Road, in reference to a reported theft.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a male suspect had removed a large quantity of pet food products from an unlocked truck parked at the business. Authorities estimate the total value of the stolen merchandise at approximately $20,000.

During the course of the investigation, detectives were able to identify a suspect. Police said they discovered the individual was attempting to resell the stolen pet food through Facebook Marketplace, an online platform commonly used for local buying and selling.

On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, 37-year-old Freddrick Lee, Jr. was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Mobile County Metro Jail for processing.

Formal charges have not been publicly detailed, but the case remains under investigation. Authorities have not indicated whether additional suspects may be involved.
