Chickasaw, AL (BuzzReport) — A man convicted in connection with a deadly 2022 robbery at a Chickasaw park has been sentenced to two life terms in prison.

In January, a jury found Tre’vion Collins-Smiley guilty of murder and first-degree robbery stemming from the Oct. 21, 2022 shooting death of Triston Bohannon.

Prosecutors said the shooting occurred during a robbery at Paul Devine Park, located off Grant Street. Bohannon was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.

Collins-Smiley was the second suspect taken into custody during the investigation. Authorities previously arrested Joseph Timmons in connection with the same incident. Details regarding Timmons’ case or its current status were not immediately released.

The sentencing brings a measure of closure to a case that drew significant attention in Chickasaw, underscoring the severe consequences tied to violent crimes committed during robberies.
