Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — Authorities have arrested a second suspect in connection with an attempted robbery that turned deadly last week near downtown Mobile. According to investigators, officers identified and located another individual believed to be involved in the attempted robbery that occurred on Sunday, February 15, 2026, in a parking lot near Government Street and South Joachim Street. The incident resulted in the death of Javeli Alexander, who was pronounced dead at the scene. On Saturday, February 21, 2026, Rodney Davis Jr., 20, was taken into custody following the ongoing investigation. Police say Davis was arrested without incident and transported to the Metro Jail, where he remains held as the case proceeds. Investigators have not released additional details regarding the circumstances leading up to the attempted robbery or the specific role each suspect allegedly played. Officials also have not announced whether further arrests are expected. Authorities say the investigation remains active, and anyone with information related to the case is encouraged to contact law enforcement.
