Birmingham, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A robbery investigation is underway in Birmingham, and authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an armed holdup at a convenience store in the Wylam area. According to the Birmingham Police Department, the robbery occurred at approximately 3:46 a.m. on October 30, 2025, at the 5 Way Mini Mart, located at 4800 8th Avenue in Wylam. Suspect Image Investigators said the suspect entered the store roughly 15 minutes before the robbery to use the ATM, then left the premises. The individual later returned armed with a handgun, confronted the cashier, and demanded money. After obtaining cash, the suspect fled the scene in a gray Ford Fusion. Police have not released a description of the suspect but confirmed a handgun was used during the robbery. No injuries were reported. Anyone with information related to the case is urged to contact the Birmingham Police Department Robbery Unit at 205-254-1753. Tips may also be submitted anonymously through CrimeStoppers at 205-254-7777. Authorities say even small details could be critical in identifying the suspect and advancing the investigation.
