Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch announced during a noon news conference that an arrest has been made in connection with the disappearance of a Theodore family. Juan Carlos Argueta Guerra, 31, was taken into custody and booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail at 8:24 a.m. Tuesday. Jail records show Guerra is charged with three counts of first-degree kidnapping. His booking information lists him as homeless. Authorities have been searching for Aurelia Choc Cac and her two children, 17-year-old Niurka Choc and 2-year-old Anthony Garcia. The family was last seen on the afternoon of Jan. 30. Following the news conference Tuesday afternoon, FBI agents were observed executing a search warrant at Azalea Grove Mobile Home Park. The location is adjacent to Lloyd’s Mobile Home Park on Old Pascagoula Road, where investigators conducted a search on Monday. During the press conference, Sheriff Burch stated that Guerra is not legally present in the United States. Federal authorities are assisting with the ongoing investigation. Officials have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the family’s disappearance, and the search for the missing victims remains active.
