HATTIESBURG, Miss. (BuzzReport) — Three people were found dead Tuesday afternoon at a residence in Hattiesburg, authorities confirmed. Forrest County Coroner Lisa Klem said Tuesday evening that all three individuals were pronounced dead at the scene and will undergo autopsies. The victims’ names have not been released, and officials have not disclosed the cause or manner of death. According to a news release from City of Hattiesburg Chief Communications Officer John Arender, Hattiesburg Police Department officers responded at approximately 2:45 p.m. to a request for a welfare check at a home in the 500 block of Seventh Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered three bodies inside the residence. Forrest County Sheriff’s deputies, Forrest County Coroner personnel, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation agents, and animal control officers also responded to the scene. Authorities believe all three victims lived at the residence. The investigation remains ongoing. BuzzReport will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
