Saraland Man Arrested on Child Abuse Torture Charge

SARALAND, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A Saraland man has been arrested and charged with child abuse torture following an investigation by local authorities.

Deangelious Clinton Wooten, 42, of Saraland, was taken into custody on Jan. 24 by the Saraland Police Department. According to court documents, Wooten is accused of striking an 8-year-old child with an unknown metal object on Jan. 15.

Investigators have not disclosed Wooten’s specific relationship to the child. However, charging documents state that he had “the permanent or temporary care or responsibility for the supervision of a child under 18 years of age” at the time of the alleged incident. The victim is identified as an 8-year-old child.

Wooten was booked into the Mobile Metro Jail on Jan. 24. Jail records show he was released on Jan. 26 after posting a $10,000 bond.

No additional details about the child’s condition or the circumstances surrounding the alleged abuse have been released. The case remains under investigation.
