Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A winter storm of 2026 continues to impact millions across the Southeast and Northeast, prompting widespread school closures, delays, and virtual learning across Alabama on Monday due to hazardous travel conditions and frigid temperatures.

School districts and higher education institutions across the state announced schedule changes Sunday evening as the storm moved through the region, bringing snow, ice, and dangerously cold conditions. Officials cited student and staff safety as the primary reason for the disruptions.

No closures or delays reported by Mobile, Washington, Clarke, Monroe, Wilcox, Escambia and Baldwin Counties at the publication of this article.

  • Cullman City Schools – Closed
  • Cullman County Schools – Closed
  • Dallas County Schools – Closed
  • Decatur City Schools – Closed
  • Faith Christian School – Virtual learning
  • Florence City Schools – Closed
  • Franklin County Schools – Closed
  • Haleyville City Schools – Closed
  • Hartselle City Schools – Closed
  • Jacksonville Christian Academy – Closed
  • Jacksonville City Schools – Delayed three hours
