Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A quiet Sunday afternoon in Mobile was shattered by gunfire when police responded to reports of shots fired in a residential neighborhood off Ridgedale Road.

According to authorities, officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of Ridgedale Road at approximately 2:59 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Upon arrival, officers learned that a known male suspect had attempted to shoot another man during a confrontation. The intended victim managed to escape the scene unharmed.

During the incident, gunfire struck a nearby home, raising concerns among residents about the danger posed to those inside. No injuries were reported, but the damage underscores the seriousness of the encounter.

The suspect fled the area before officers arrived, and no arrests have been announced. Police have not yet released the identities of those involved or a possible motive for the shooting.
