Gulfport, MS (BuzzReport) — A Gulfport man is behind bars after police say he opened fire on a vehicle occupied by four children during a domestic-related incident Saturday evening. The Gulfport Police Department announced that Orlando Arbyray Thomas, 34, was arrested on January 18, 2026, and charged with one count of Aggravated Domestic Assault and four counts of Child Endangerment following a reported shooting. Officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 5:05 p.m. after receiving calls of gunfire in a residential area. According to investigators, the victim drove to Thomas’ residence with four juveniles inside the vehicle, parked, and sounded the horn. Police say Thomas then exited the residence armed with a firearm and fired multiple rounds in the direction of the vehicle. The vehicle was struck by gunfire, authorities confirmed. Detectives later recovered multiple spent shell casings as well as a firearm at the scene. No fatalities were reported, and officials have not released information on whether any of the occupants were physically injured. Thomas was taken into custody and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where he remains held on a $450,000 bond set by Judge Fountain. Police emphasized the seriousness of the charges, particularly given the presence of children during the incident, and stated that the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Gulfport Police Department. This is a developing story. BuzzReport will continue to provide updates as more details become available.
