Mobile, Ala. (BuzzReport) — The Mobile Law Enforcement Foundation has once again stepped forward to support local law enforcement during a critical time, establishing an online donation portal to assist Lt. Lorenzo Matthews as he recovers from injuries sustained in a shooting. Lt. Matthews has remained hospitalized since Sunday following the incident, and officials say he faces an extended recovery period. According to organizers, all donations made through the portal will go directly to Lt. Matthews to help ease the financial burden associated with his ongoing medical care and recovery. Community leaders and law enforcement representatives expressed gratitude for the Foundation’s continued support, noting its longstanding role in assisting officers and their families during times of crisis. “The outpouring of love and support from the community has been overwhelming,” a statement read. “We are deeply thankful for every prayer, message, and act of kindness.” Members of the public who wish to contribute can do so through the Mobile Law Enforcement Foundation’s website at:https://mobilelawenforcementfoundation.com/lorenzo-matthews/ As Lt. Matthews continues his recovery, officials ask the community to keep him and his family in their thoughts and prayers.
