Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A deadly shooting outside a neighborhood grocery store has left one man dead and another in custody, prompting an ongoing homicide investigation by Mobile police. Officers were dispatched to 1729 Katy Street, the location of S&G Grocery, at approximately 2:11 p.m. on January 2, 2026, after reports of a shooting. When police arrived, they found a man lying outside the business suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators determined that the suspect had exited the store, shot the victim, and then fled the area on foot. Through follow-up investigation, authorities identified the victim as Tyron Walker, 46. Antonio Finklea The suspect was later identified as Antonio Finklea, 43. Police located Finklea shortly after the incident, took him into custody without incident, and transported him to Metro Jail. The circumstances surrounding the shooting, including a possible motive and whether the individuals knew one another, have not yet been released. Police say the investigation remains active and additional charges are possible.
