Violent Disturbance Rocks Dawes Road Community on Christmas Morning

Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A violent disturbance shattered the quiet of Christmas morning when a shooting sent one man to the hospital and another to jail in west Mobile.

At approximately 2:37 a.m. on Thursday, December 25, Mobile Police officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Dawes Road after receiving reports of gunfire in the area. The call prompted an immediate response as officers worked to secure the scene and locate those involved.

Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering from gunshot injuries. The wounds were determined to be non-life-threatening, and the victim was quickly transported to a local hospital, where he received medical treatment.

As the investigation unfolded, authorities determined the shooting stemmed from an altercation between the victim and a known male subject. During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly produced a firearm and shot the victim, escalating the dispute into a serious act of violence.

Police later arrested Corey Harrell, 29, in connection with the incident. Harrell was taken into custody and transported to Metro Jail, where he is being held pending further legal proceedings.

The case remains under investigation as authorities continue to review the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No additional injuries were reported, and police have not released further details at this time.
