Jackson, MS (BuzzReport) — The Mississippi Republican Party and the Mississippi Democratic Party announced on Friday the list of candidates who have successfully filed to qualify for the 2026 federal elections, outlining the field for races for the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives.

The U.S. Senate race will feature candidates from three affiliations. Republicans who have filed include Sarah Adlakha and incumbent Senator Cindy Hyde Smith. The Democratic field consists of Scott Colom, Albert Littell, and Priscilla W. Till. Independent candidate Ty Pinkins has also filed to run statewide.

All four of Mississippi’s U.S. House districts will have contested races.

In District One, Republican incumbent Trent Kelly has filed for reelection. Democrats James Clifton Johnson III and Kelvin Buck are also qualified candidates in the district.

District Two includes multiple candidates across party lines. Republicans Ron Eller and Kevin Wilson have filed. The Democratic candidates are Evan Littleton Turnage, Pertis Herman Willams III, and incumbent Congressman Bennie Thompson. Independent candidate Bennie Foster has also qualified.

In District Three, Republican incumbent Michael Guest is seeking another term in office. Democrat Michael A. Chiaradio has filed as the opposing candidate.

District Four will feature a crowded field. Republican candidates include Sawyers Walters and incumbent Congressman Mike Ezell. Democrats Jeffrey Hulum III, David Ryan Grover, and Paul James Blackman have filed. Independent candidate Caryl Boyanton is also on the list.

All filings will now be submitted to the Mississippi Secretary of State’s office for review and final approval before candidates are officially placed on the ballot for the 2026 federal elections.
