Mobile, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A midday robbery at a Dollar General store on Moffett Road escalated into an armed confrontation Wednesday before ending with the swift arrest of two suspects, according to police.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 12:31 p.m. on December 17, 2025, to the Dollar General located at 4821 Moffett Road after reports of a robbery in progress. Investigators say store employees told officers that an unknown adult male concealed merchandise while inside the store. When an employee attempted to confront the suspect, the situation quickly intensified.

Police say the suspect produced a handgun and pointed it at the employee, allowing him to flee the store without further resistance. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Law enforcement officers located the suspects a short time later and detained them without incident. During the detention, officers recovered a controlled substance from one of the suspects.

Authorities identified those arrested as Carlos Dials, 44, and Jayda Jordan, 56. Both individuals were transported to Metro Jail as the investigation continued.

Police have not released additional details about potential charges or the type of controlled substance recovered. The case remains under investigation.
